Didn't like Mud City when I picked some up in Tesco's the other day. It's fizzy, and therefore kills it completely for me.

you need it off tap tbh, any stout out of a bottle isn't as good.
If it's too fizzy just decant it into a jug first and then re-pour into your glass.

Had a mate over to stay from Blighty, and he said that this was a blummin' lovely pint, and he'd drink it in the pub if available.

Given that he lives in the Real Ale Capital of Britain (I think), that's not at all bad.

Poring into a wet/rinsed out glass also helps with the fizz

I don't agree. There are some excellent bottled Stouts available.

I picked up a Brains Original Stout in Tesco for £1.50 yesterday, wished I'd bought more after finishing it!
