So does mine! Amazon say 40x. The invoice that came with the bottles has no mention of 40. I've spoken to them and it's £75.99 for 40. £5.25 for 1.

The chap, very apologetic, is getting in touch with IT and Amazon now and will be back in touch. We'll clearly get our money back but definitely not the bottles! He said he does not have stock to cover them even if he wanted to honour it.

In fact, Exiled Bradfordian, I'd remove the link in the original post, or at least make a comment that 'deal's off' so that nobody else wastes their time... Not that I can see the mistake happening again now that the situation is known to the company!

That's annoying! Was hoping we'd all got a bargain! The most annoying thing is I've just had a dispatch email for the second "case" I ordered last night which was dispatched after the post that said they were aware of the problem! Surprised they processed any more ordered once they'd been made aware of it. Oh well, maybe I'll get a refund and be able to keep both my new bottles.

Oh well,

There's going to be some refunds then! :D

A little bit naughty though, I can't help wondering if they figured out their mistake before dispatching? Sending one bottle in the hope they could explain it away as an "honest mistake guvnor".

My invoice definitely states 2 x 40 x Bottles. I reckon their feedback scores going to take a bit of a dive...:(

Hi

I'll remove the link when I get home. Can't figure out how to do it on tapatalk. Straight back for a refund when I get them. Could be an honest error but i'm not best impressed; I wonder what would have happened if we had pressed 'buy' when it showed £75.99 on the same listing!!!

TempTest, what time did you speak to them and notify them of the error? Your post on the forum is at 2:21 whereas I got an email from Amazon at 4:00 to say my bottles had been despatched. He must have been aware of the error when he despatched mine. If he was aware of the error and kept despatching, it is out of order.

Good point. I got a 'despatched' email (for my second order) at 14:56 today. If that was after he spoke to you, he has knowingly despatched an order that is not as described. Potentially one for Trading Standards...how many people will order one case at £5 and not bother themselves with complaining/returning the item for the sake of a fiver?

I'm sure it's an honest mistake rather than anything dodgy, but it's also careless. The description clearly states 40 bottle value pack, and even if the error was on Amazons side it should have been noticed prior to despatch. Fingers crossed for 40 bottles, but if not then I'll want full refund, and they'll have to either cover the return postage, or let me keep the bottle!

Me too.

As for the person who received today, did you pay for expedited delivery?

Has anyone else's arrived?

To answer a few questions:

-I spoke to Household Products originally to inform them of the mistake at around 1pm yesterday.

-I did not pay for expedited delivery, though it did arrive on a 24 hour DPD service.

-I've spoken to the manager again this morning. He has confirmed the error is between Amazon and Household Products systems (two Household Products SKUs mapping to one Amazon ASIN). The issue here is that Household Products cannot differentiate the problem orders from genuine orders - The orders at £5.95 come through to Household Products systems as an order for a single bottle - which is what they expect for £5.95 hence they did not spot it.

The remedy here is:
-People who receive a single bottle expecting 40 will be given a full refund and can keep the bottle. This will be confirmed by email to all affected within the next few hours, giving instructions on how to process the refund. Additionally, those affected will be offered a good will gesture/offer in the same email. I've not been told what this offer is (the MD is currently working out the details). Clearly this will not be 40 bottles for £5.95 but I've been told it should be an 'attractive' offer.

For anybody that wants to confirm this or ask further questions Household Products can be contacted directly on 01924 764002.

To confirm: After speaking to Household Products about this for quite some time I am certain this is a genuine mistake and one that appears to me to very much in Amazon's hands. Despite this the company are going to the ones taking the hit (indeed it is causing a bit of a storm over there; the manager has cancelled his holiday to rectify this, etc.). I'd hope that given the nature of this nobody leaves 'negative' feedback which could unfairly damage the company’s reputation when they are clearly trying to do everything they can to resolve the problem.

Remember: If an offer seems too good to be true it probably is. And in this case it was. But none of us will be out of pocket and should have a little something to sweeten the deal. I'm not sure what more people could hope for! :)
