Fresh wort beer kits - The Malt Miller
Re: Fresh wort beer kits - The Malt Miller
Will keep an eye out then. Have to admit if it is cost effective the idea of slipping one in every 2nd/3rd brew might help appease the family a bit.

Possibly one yes. Managing to swing my process around a bit to get to a brew every other week may have pushed things a bit far.

To be fair we have very limited time because we work opposite hours for childcare reasons so on the rare occassion we are both off on a weekend day its prob not all that fair of me to whip the mash tun out

I see that the price seems to include shipping, which makes it a lot more attractive.
Might just have to order one to see what it is like

No it doesn't, shipping is at TMM normal price for the weight.f00b4r wrote:I see that the price seems to include shipping, which makes it a lot more attractive.

Doh! It confused me as it was showing as zero in the basket until final checkout, think I will still order one to try though when I leave my next order as the additional postage will still be a small.joe1002 wrote:No it doesn't, shipping is at TMM normal price for the weight.f00b4r wrote:I see that the price seems to include shipping, which makes it a lot more attractive.

Any idea if other beers are to be added soon or is this the sole test for demand?beerlover1983 wrote:I am planning to just waiting for it to be ready in kegsladeywadey wrote:beerlover1983 wrote:The first fresh wort kit on sale now

I just ordered one there, ok it is more expensive than any premium kits and I can make an AG batch cheaper BUT it will be interesting to use fresh wort which is not my own. Also means I have 2 brews fermenting whilst I am away on holiday!to come back to

Something one could do is add yeast direct to the Jerry can. Either then just ferment with the cap half screwed on or drill it and add a basic airlock.

Re: Fresh wort beer kits - The Malt Miller
We thought very carefully about this and it may be something that we can do in the future. We could supply caps with taps in, the wort could then be fermented in a standard FV then dropped back into the cube for secondary, this would be done with the cube on it's side and using the second supplied cap with the tap. I just didn't want to instructions to become to complicated, but could easily be done with a video.
I put two kits on to ferment last Thursday, fermented at 20c using S-04. They are both at FG 1012 and are clearing very well

Interested to see what people think of this. Like the idea of being able to bulk stocks easily
