This is all very weird!

It's brewery hopped wort to which you add yeast.

No doubt it tastes superb. But what's the point? If you want to make brewing super easy why not just buy ready made polypins and drink straight from them? Where's the fun in opening a container and adding yeast?

No disrespect to Rob. This is probably a superb product. And no doubt I'll try one at some point. But it isn't home brewing. It's like buying ready made microwave meals and claiming you're cooking.

There is a place for this, but it definitely isn't in the Grain Brewing part of the forum.

Apologies for being a PITA, but let's get a grip here!!!

I guess the point is that it is for people who want to make kit beer, as many people do cos it saves a lot of money compared to the pub or even shop bought beer, and are prepared to pay more for premium quality. Some of the canned kits costs around £25. 40 pints for £32 quid or so represents a big saving and you get a fresh, real beer, not pasteurised etc. 80p a pint or so. A lot of home brewers, unlike me, don't have the time or inclination to do AG, and this gives them AG beer. It might catch on, given pub prices are so high.

Absolutely agree. Easy beer at about a pound a pint-don't forget the shipping cost!

But please, not in the all grain forum!!

This is a great idea for newbies and for fault finding your own brewery too. If you have enough skill an kit to ferment these out and have a great pint, then you can move on to mashing and boiling. Or if you are having problems with brewing and trying to find out if it is pre or post boil, these can help!

Does MM also provide the specifications of the wort he provided to the brewer too? This would aid fault finding greatly.

I bottled mine a couple of weeks ago. Going to condition for another few weeks before testing. I used WLP090 as my yeast.

I`ve been watching this on the `Posh Part` of JBK and thinking that `They` won`t go for this because it`s just like a Big Kit! #-o
I think there will be a more positive response from the `Kit Brewers` because we are EASILY LED and will try anything once,
and if it`s good, will do it again! :D

Rob got them in stock Just after I had placed my last order with him, otherwise I would certainly have added one to my basket.

. . . . and that comes from someone in the Very New Shiney Posh part of the forum :D

Is there only ever going to be one kit available at a time?

Seems like quite a random beer style, considering that's the only choice atm.

Not been at home much lately, and nearly run out of beer. No time to make a proper AG brew, so ordered one of these from Rob. Should be here tomorrow.

Who else has made one of these, and what do you think of them?
