Recommendation

Post by andywills » Thu Feb 28, 2008 5:18 pm

I am looking for my next brew to be a larger kit. Has anyone got any recommendations for a good continental style lager? The local home brew shop (jolly brewer in kidsgrove) has a good selection but unsure which one to try.

Coopers Bavarian Pilsner with 750g Extra light Spray malt and 250g of sugar, Steep 25g of saaz in the liquid you rinse out of the tin for 15 minutes, then strain that into the FV and make up as normal.

The Yeast supplied with the kit is a lager strain so you could use that or alternatively if you don't have much temp control you could use Nottingham Ale Yeast and ferment at 16-18C, which will give you pretty clean flavours.

Fuggles are rather different to Saaz.
