re-hydrating yeast

hello there,
when re-hydrating yeast how long should i leave it before adding it to the wort? 30 mins?also is 140g of sugar ok for priming lager?-as suggested in the instructions. someone already told me that 85 was enough but that was for pale ale. is it the same for lager?why do they tell you to add more in the instructions if 85 is ok?i would also like to know how to make a syrup for priming. how much water is added to 85g of sugar, and should it be boiled ect?

20 - 30 mins is what I usually leave mine for then add to the wort

you probably add more priming sugar to lager as it usually a lot more carbonated and the extra sugar should do this for you.

not sure how to make the syrup up, but I would boil the solution to sanitise it first before adding to your beer.

thanks for the very quick reply. thats what i thought about priming lager. however in my coopers pale ale kit it says to put in 184g of sugar so i am a little confused.

(don't barrel lager, it doesn't work, they can handle sufficient pressure to carbonate it properly)
I'm guessing you meant Can't handle the pressure necessary Chris? Dont want an angry lager drinker at your door
