re-priming

Post by sam c » Fri Jan 02, 2009 3:04 pm

hi,

just did an HB lager supreme kit, primed with 85g sugar and left in the warm for 4 days and then so far its been in the fridge for about a week. but it is flat. i used the same bottles for some tc and they are all plenty fizy so i dont think it is the bottles. i was wondering if there is anything i could do to make it fizzy. ie. maybe pour all the bottles back into the fv add a little yeast and more sugar and start the priming process again? is this possible? also im away at the moment so wouldn't be able to do it for a week or so, does that matter?

Take it out of the fridge & store it around the 12c mark, the Co2 may have been absorbed into the brew as it has been stored at low temps. Then try a bottle after a week to see if there is any fizz to it, if not you may have to re-prime your brew.
