That's unusual, what temperature did the wort get up to during fermentation?

Hi BryggmesterBryggmester wrote:That's unusual, what temperature did the wort get up to during fermentation?
temp was fairly stable thru out 18 - 20 ( from a heat pad ) the room itself stays at about 16 degs heating is on just enought to kill the chill
i have done quite a few kit brew just this way but nothing like this has happend before.
i clean everything with soda crystals soaking for no more than 30 mins then rinse with vedene ( idophore ) quick swillout with fresh boiled water
then brew .

same routine every time
Re: apple tasting coopers dark
i have heard that apple type flavours have been caused by excessively high fermentation temperatures but yours sound OK to me. In that case I'm stumped.
Re: apple tasting coopers dark
ive read a few posts on here about the coopers lager tasting appley.
i thought mine was just because i drank it too soon. maybe another week or two will help.

hi all
well another week on apple taste has completly gone and the beer is great, strange though this was a couple of days away from going down the bog
lessons to be learned here ..... be patient give it a bit longer dont panic.
