Secondary Fermentation / Carbonation In Shed ?!?
Re: Secondary Fermentation / Carbonation In Shed ?!?
Hello,
My understanding is that secondary fermentation is completed within around 2-4 days, so keep it in a warm place until then and then pop them in the garage to mature!

Yep, for secondary fermentation you need to keep it in the same temperature, for a few days at least, around the 20-ish degree mark, otherwise the yeast will go dormant, and won't carbonate. (I refer to ALE yeasts here)
Cheers.

I have all my bottled lager in the shed, as and when I want a drinky winky I grab a few and chill them in the fridge so that they are icy cold... mmm.. very refreshing this Cooper's Aussie Lager..

Same for me, shove all my bottles in tote boxes in the shed with a blanket over them. Leave them well alone and never had any prolems this way.
