I have just bought a new Burco 30 ltr tea urn for use as my HLT and Boiler. Used it for the first time today and boiled 30ltrs of water (testing efficiency!)
Got to 98degrees thermostat cut in
Phoned Burco they state this is now the 'spec' from Health and Safety ie no sustained boil can be maintained
I understand there is an idiot's guide to override thermostat somewhere - can anyone help?
PS - I am a visual learner!!!!!!
Many thanks in anticipation
How do you override new Burco thermostat
Re: How do you override new Burco thermostat
Try this
1. Disconnect both ends of the grey wire that runs from the upper element connection to the back of the thermostat - and discarding this wire
2. Disconnect the end of the blue wire at the back of the thermostat and reconnecting it to the now vacant upper connection of the element.

Thanks for this info, I've just bought one of these.
Does this mean therefore that the boiler simply stays on?
I guess this also means that you can't use it as a hot liquor tank anymore? [Not the end of the world]
