ginger beer a bit flat, can i re-prime?

Post by kev147 » Wed Jan 31, 2007 10:40 pm

hi all,
made a coopers ginger beer kit and it tastes great, been in bottles for 3 weeks, but it is a little flat.
i used beer kit enhancer during fermentation and coopers carbonation drops in the recommended dosage during bottling. bottles are well sealed.

can i re-prime to add gassiness?
if so how much per pint bottle and what should i use?

also, made a coopers lager using cane sugar, flavour great, nice n fizzy but no head, how can i achieve a good head on my kit beers?
many thanks.

thanks daab,
re-primed half the bottles, but immediately they foamed over, i sealed them as soon as i could, but i fear i have lost a fair bit of gas because of this, however i suppose its part of the learning process, i will just accept what i get in future i.e a flattish but great tasting drink.

in response to the beer enhancer issue, i can honestly say the ginger beer tastes great, it appears to have a little more body than commercial ginger beer but less gas.

i was also reading some other forum topics and was interested to hear that the premium kits include all you need, can anyone recommend a really good 'all inclusive' lager kit?
