How much priming sugar for a Belgian Wheat ?

Post by mestruga » Mon Feb 01, 2010 2:53 pm

Hi there!

I've read that Belgian Wheat Kit beers like Tarwebier from Brewferm need lots of priming sugar, something like 10 grams per litre, but I am afraid about bottles explosion.
Has anyone tried this kit using glass bottles?
How much sugar did you use?
What about the results?

Thanks in advance and Happy Brewing

Hi,

All i can say is my Tarwebier tasted nothing like a Wheat beer more like a strange lager. A friend of mine did the Brupaks Beers of the World Wheat beer at the same time and his turned out much much better than the Tarwebier did.

I did the sugar that was recommended on the instructions and I think I used brewing sugar for this one.
