Coopers Ginger Beer question

Post by colgilbec » Fri Feb 12, 2010 11:16 pm

Just a quick question to anyone thats brewed this.
Having brewed this Coopers Ginger Beer for the first time,it has been conditioning for the rec 3 weeks and is ready to be stored in the cold.
It is not even trying to clear although there is a small amount of sediment on the bottom of the bottle.
This left me wondering if this actually stays cloudy or will it clear?,there is no reference anywhere to tell you.
Just that i sampled a bottle of Crabbies ginger beer which was clear.

Not done the cooper kit but my homemade ginger beer has stayed cloudy. I'd have thought this is how ginger beer should be. The crabbies will be highly processed and full of stuff to make it clear. Prob some guy in their marketing department told them it would sell better like that.

If it tastes good I wouldn't worry about it

I've made this kit and it does stay cloudy but you do get yeast at the bottom of the bottle. Be careful when pouring as because it is cloudy it is difficult to see when the yeast is about to get in the glass.

Mine has stayed cloudy months after bottling. However, as suttonbrewer says, you do get yeast at the bottom of the bottle. The yeast at the bottom of my bottles hasn't really stuck there so you do need to be careful poring it. I generally stop pouring as soon as I see any hit the head and that leaves more in the bottle than I would with Saf04 for example.

Couldnt wait any longer, opened a bottle last night which was cold and i,m well impressed, its got just about the right amount of ginger taste without being overpowering and slides down easily.
This is going to be a cracker for the summer/warmer days when you need a cold beer.
Anyone having doubts? get it on now ,while the dark cold nights are here, you,ll be glad you did.!!!.
