Coopers Irish Stout / Extra Dark Spraymalt

Post by AndyC » Sat Mar 13, 2010 3:30 pm

Hi

Am thinking of trying this kit after all of the rave reviews - has anyone tried it with Muntons extra dark spraymalt?

Any thoughts? :?:

Cheers,

Andy

I have just finished my last bottle of this one last night  I made it with a 1KG bag of Muntons BKE and it turned out absolutely fantastic ! I would imagine adding dark malt would make it even better
If you are bottling it like i did, I think 6 weeks is the minimum time required before you start drinking it to fully allow the rich flavour to appear. I tried it after 4 weeks and was not at all impressed with it, but by 8 it was a belter :D Will definately do this one again !

I have done the Brewmaster Irish stout with 1kg of dark spraymalt and it is an Excellent pint. I now brew this about once every 4 weeks as most of my mates think its better than any commerical beer available. I currently have a stout and dark ale mix with 500gms of brewing sugar made to 23lts on the go this was from the Coopers website will keep you posted as to how this turns out.

I have made this kit using an extra 1kg of dark dme and with 1kg medium dme. Definately prefer the one made with dark dme.

Yes!! With 1kg extra dark malt extract plus 500g ordinary white sugar made uo to 4 gallons. ABV around 6% - superb winter beer, needs lengthy maturation.
This is now my standard winter beer but drink with caution!

Cheers,

John
