Done a few kits now, first was Coppers Aussie larger(used coopers enhancer) and the FG was below 1010, carnt remember the exact figure but it was close to what was exptected.
Next was a Coopers Cerveza and that stuck around 1016 (used coopers enhancer).
Then a Morgans Saaz Pilsner and that was 1014 (used DME/dextrose 50/50).
Right now i have a St Peters IPA, its been in the FV for 7 days and is still right up at 1016(SG 1050) i even tried some yeast vitamins with this.
The cerveza and saaz were both cidery and you couldnt really drink more than a pint at a time.
The IPA tastes bitter like i would expect no cideryness.
The coopers aussie was pretty good, this was fermented in my conservatory with temps around 24c the others were in my kitchen and were always between 18-22c.
Sanatizing wise i always use steralizing powder(smells like bleach) and leave to soak for a hour or so then rinse a few times until i dont smell any bleach.
Just a little concerned that all 3 kits now have high FG's, Am i doing anything wrong? should i be concerned about it?
Not reaching FG?
Re: Not reaching FG?
How long are you leaving them for? I generally leave kits alone for a minimum of 2 months, 6 if I can help it.The cerveza and saaz were both cidery and you couldnt really drink more than a pint at a time.

My experience of getting the fv down is to add yeast vit to anything stuck, giving it a gental stir. 1016 is ok to rack at, its about as high as I would accept though.
Re: Not reaching FG?
The cerveza has had 7 weeks in a cornie after 10 days ferment and the morgans has had about 6 in a cornie after 14 days in the FV, the IPA was straight from the FV as a sample!
Guess i'll wait a little longer
