Hi All,
Last night I tried my first bottle of Brewferm Framboos. Bottled it back in mid May so I think I've been very patient

Absolutely gorgeous and I'd recommend to anyone who likes a fruit beer.
Now looking to try some others in their range - anybody done one that they think is particularly good?
Also just tried first pint of a Coopers bitter thats only been in the barrel a month so not so patient there! Quite malty but hoping it will improve in time.
Cheers CArl

Hi,
I've done the Tarwerbier (Belgian wit - or wheat beer) and the Ambiorix (Belgiam amber ale) both of which were good... Need some conditioning (6-8 weeks) tho but the wait is well worth it!

I done a double batch of framboos about 6 months ago - got to say its been my favourite brewferm (if a tad expensive), I just made it up with golden syrup.
I loved the flavour so much Ive just put a tin of framboos with 2 tins of brewferms xmas ale & made up to 25 litres in the hope of getting that raspberry taste in with the liquid plum pudding beer come the festive season. (The xmas ale on its own is a cracker too!)
I suppose its irrelivant how it will taste as Im not pouring away a rather expensive kit mix!

I've brewed the Grand Cru [horrible] and the Triple [very good]. I've been meaning to try the Diablo, the Christmas, and the Kriek.

I have done 3 Brewferm beers:
1. Triple - Very good indeed. Strong and light bodied. Made with brewing sugar and had a slight tang due to this, otherwise superb.
2. Abdij (Abbey). 'Interesting' as you might expect. A little sour and roughly 'brown ale' colour. I tried one after 2 weeks conditioning and it was a little like cheap sherry!!! It did get better after that. I can only drink one small bottle of this at a time as it's quite hard to get through.
3. Diablo. Supposedly very like Duvel. The best of the 3 by a way. I could easily put a few of these away! I used golden syrup (Tesco Value) as the sugar in this one and this seemed to have the effect of reducing the slight 'tang'.
I have an Xmas in the fermenter as we speak, so hope that one will be great. Would it be wrong to bottle it in pint bottles for xmas?
N,.
P.s. Does anyone know if they do one anything like Leffe blonde?

Did the Framboos back in Feb, and still drinking the odd bottle as I have hidden them at the back of the shed (AKA brewery) to stop me drinking it all at once.
Just finished the Kriek. Had a sneaky taster with SWMBO 1 week after bottling - lovely

Bloody expensive though!!

However had to buy it as SWMBO wanted it ready for her birthday party!
Anyone any idea why the sudden price hike on the Kriek?

Cracked open a bottle of my xmas framboos concoction last night (10 days bottled). It was surprisingly smooth as I usually leave brewferm kits for 3-4 months before supping. Although it was made up with just kits & no fermentable additions so there was a lack of twangyness to it. Got to (try!) leaving the rest alone for 3 months...
I done a double batch of Abdij last year & it was malty until it had 3 months conditioning then it turned into a potent cracker.
The Diablo is another superb ale if you give it its time. Although I would say not to prime it too much, it was lively bugger.
As for fermentables I always use a cheap supermarket golden syrup (its partially inverted like candysugar) although these brews are generally quite strong & flavoursome- I dont know if it makes that much difference to the final taste.

i did the Abdij about 2 years ago....found the last bottle of it about 2 months ago and tried it....it was grand but not worth the wait it was equally tasty after about 3 months...I thought the 18 months storage would result in something superb but it was only as good as the rest of it tbh. having said that it is a good kit if you like belgian browns like leffe and affilgem, grimbergin etc.
