coopers carbonation drops - how many?

Post by rdt123 » Thu Feb 03, 2011 11:06 pm

hi all,

Just bottled my second batch of canadian blonde and decided that 2 drops was best for me in PET bottles.

My next batch is Coopers Sparkling Ale with the recommnded 1.5kg LME, 500g Spraymalt and 300g of brewing sugar. This time I will be bottling in 500ml swing tops. How many drops would you recommend?

cheers

Rob

Hi,

having bottled many coopers kit brews in 450ml swing tops I would say 1 is probably plenty (2 would certainly be too much)

But I found I got best result when I bulk primed 80-120g for an coopers ale and 120-180g for a 23l batch for a lager or wheat beer
this works out pretty much the same as Coopers 6-8g per litre guideline that you see on their website...

Hope that helps

:)
