Temperature Control?
Temperature Control?
Apologise if this has been posted before but wanting to know...
Im planning on brewing in my cellar which i think is a goooood option but what do you do about temperature control? Cause i know it gets cold down there or shall i just not put it down there or wrap it in towels or just stick it down there and watch? i dont see it being a problem getting warm but going cold is obviously a concern?
Any advice welcome....

Re: Temperature Control?
Flexitub with water in it and a fish tank heater.
Keeps it temperate and catches any coopers explosions.

Re: Temperature Control?

Bit like your cellar then, really. Only, ye cellar's liable to be steadily cooler, year round.
Either way, both perfect examples of where 50 Watt fish tank heaters come into their own.
Just don't get suckered into buying 'bargain' ones from Hong Kong, on the Bay ~ we've covered this before too

Good heater takes the guess work out of ye brews better than any bloody Hydrometer

Six miles to 'town'. Nothing around me but open countryside. Dinny new Gard once asked me, when I was renewing my rifle license; " How do ye get to all ye hundreds of acres of permission for using this thing? "
With great delight, and no little self control, I just said: " I open my front door .....

Good man, Steve. Watch yeself though. Remember to sanitise it first. Also, these modern yokes tend to have an external scale and setting knob on them. I set at 21 / 22 and trust to the factory calibration. I've never yet had one go hay wire on me. But, I'm sure someone will come along, wagging the big finger and saying ye should test it in a bucket of water first.
Yeah. What ever. Bloody Hydrometers next ....!

Yes, mate. I'm so far from the road, most people wouldn't think to even try to go there, without they drove. And, when ye get there? F**k all there either!
