ginger beer

brewed my first ginger beer last night the recipie wos 500g root ginger 2 lemons 1 lime wizzed in blender simmered in pot with 2ltr water added tea spoon ofcream of tartar and 3lb of brown sugar added to fv and topped up to 10 ltrs.og wos 1.040 added 7g pk of quick rise bread yeast.i know i should have used brewers yeast but brew shop out of stock[did you ever]does any 1 know if this will affect the final taste?its bubbling away niceley

I cant imagine it will affect the taste too much.

One thing I will say though is if you want a bit of sweetness left, dont let it ferment out too much or its very dry in taste.

I have a Ginger beer thread somewhere on here, do a search and it should come up.

Next time I will either add more grated ginger or a few teasoons of ground ginger for some more kick!
