Im about to barrell up my 4th brew in the next couple of days. The kit is Hamblton bards bitter, ive used 500g medium spray male and 500g of tate & lyle sugar.
My question is how much sugar to use when priming ? Im putting some in a grolsh bottle and the rest im barrelling.
In the instructions it says 5oz mixed with warm water and then it says 3 tsp per bottle.
Im a little confused and my apologies if this sounds silly but before when it comes to priming iv followed the instructions and the beer has tasted nice but there doesnt seem to me much pressure for long so id like to get it right on this one.
Can anyone recommend the best amount to use ?
How much sugar for priming ?
Re: How much sugar for priming ?
Only if they're huge bottles! Half a teaspoon per pint is about right for a bitter.thaibeer wrote:In the instructions it says 5oz mixed with warm water and then it says 3 tsp per bottle.

Thanks very much.
So half a tsp x 39-40 pints would give me the correct amount ?
