As above, any alternative kits that have a similar taste to the woodford wherry real ale kit? Its my favourite brew, but its also one of the most expensive!!

Paul.

I thought the coopers real ale was quite similar.Buy a couple of jars of Holland and Barrett malt and chuck it in works out about 15 quid for the 40 pints.

Sounds good thanks. Will spray malt have the same affect? I've got 4kg of it! :-)

I'm afraid the kits that are going to be of comparable quality to Wherry are going to be other two can kits so are going to be similar prices. If you go for a single can kit then Coopers are very good but really need the addition of either dried malt extract or liquid malt extract to get the best from them so this will also bump up the price somewhat. However you could do worse than trying Coopers English Bitter made with 1kg of DME or 500g DME and 500g Dextrose or a tin of light or medium malt extract. If you go for the 1kg of DME you may end up with a total cost of around 19 or 20 quid, a lttle cheaper if you go for the half and half DME/Dextrose. It's a good beer, not too sure if it is similar to Wherry.

Truemay obviously is quicker on the keyboard than me - got in first while I was typing. I forgot about H&B malt, that would keep the cost down and should workk okay.

If you like old speckled hen you would probably like the real ale kit.But as said above if you want to compete with the wherry on the body front chuck in the extra malt.

Is the malt additional to the sugar or instead?

Hi Mate

I find wherry one of the cheaper two can kits. £18.99 with Art of Brewing! Wilkinsons tend to do it cheaper as well!

Fermenting:-
FV 1 - Festival Spiced Winter Ale
FV 2 - Empty
FV 3 - Empty
FV 4 - Ditches Stout

Drinking:-
Keg 1 - Nothing

Conditioning:-

Bottles - Brewferm Winter Ale
Bottles - Brewferm Triple

Next
Work in progress
Old Tin of Coopers Cerveza
Couple of old tins of stuff to experiment with!
