bashed cans
bashed cans
Got six cans coopers delivered today from brew uk.All are bashed at the bottom which makes it a real pain in the ass to open them.Anyone any tips with this? I'm off for a long weekend and want to put a few brews on so I don't want to send them back.I can't open the other end as the lips are too high.
Re: bashed cans
Maybe one of the old type can openers would work. The ones with a sharpe pointed tipped blade type thing which is plunged hard into the edge if the can lid and wiggled back and forth sort of tearing the lid off with the sharpish edge of the afore mentioned blade type thing. (Crap description I know but you might get the picture) The sort of thing you might get on a swiss army knife.

Does look a bit like something out of " 7 ", doesn't it
But, no; I just bought from Annie Baby, in town.
In all seriousness though? That bieatch can Open a tin. Bashed or not. Granted, it leaves the lid hanging on by an annoying scrap of tin. This bugs me. But, it's better to be mildly inconvenienced by a lid than totally f**king defeated by one.

That's the one, the one with the sharp pointed blade type thing, that I was doing a very bad job of describing. Can you still actually buy these things

Put on a couple of kits tonight.Went not too badly.Managed to open about 3 quarters of the can with tin opener and had to bend the rest back.
Just hope two pints of blood falling into FV don't cause too many problems.
Never mind I'll just give myself a coopers stout transfusion.

Jesus christ, ye have my genuine sympathy! It's a f**king nightmare, isn't it?truemay wrote:Managed to open about 3 quarters of the can with tin opener and had to bend the rest back.
Somewhere on here (Tap Room?) I asked about tin openers and the Mad Hip' has suggested an Industrial one. Fifty quid a throw. But, it really does look like it'd outlast you or me.
I just want to speak to a couple of people. Then I strongly suspect I'll be getting one. I mean, f**k it. What's fifty quid when it's something ye'll probably have and make good use of for the rest of ye life? And just to avoid the stress .....
