1020 too high?

Post by timbo41 » Mon Aug 13, 2012 4:39 pm

Got a couple of toucans on go at mo, A Youngs definitive lager/John Bull lager hybrid and a Tom Caxton Real/Geordie Yorkshire hybrid both at 23 litre brewlength. Been in since 31st July. Both been stuck on 1020 now for 3 consecutive days. Am intending to bottle with my normal sugar cube per 500ml bottle but obviously would prefer sg to drop a bit further. Tried the normal "rousing" but nothing seems to be helping. Any advice appreciated. Oh temperature about 20c in my airing cupboard, not using a heater but could once I sanitise it but only got the one

Hi!

Try some yeast vit! Did you take an OG for each of these? If you used just the one sachet of kit yeast for each then it may have been struggling...
However if you didnt add any other fermentables (particualrly sugar ) then they may not drop much more anyway due to unfermentables in the kits malt content.

Good luck!
