woodfordes in glasgow

Post by barry44 » Sat Sep 01, 2012 5:44 pm

Hi guys,

don't know where to post this but i am looking to brew either the Wherry or the Nelson's Revenge and as such would love to try both prior to buying the kit.

Does anyone know any shops in Glasgow which sells these in bottles or even pubs which have them on draught (long shot!!)

Cheers,

Barry

Hi Barry,

I've not long started brewing myself but the only homebrew shop I know of is on Dumbarton Road. The website http://www.innhousebrewery.co.uk/index. ... ntact%20us seems a bit out of date but the contact details are still correct. However, I picked up a Wherry at a 24hr Tesco on the southside for £22-£23. Seems logical but look for it in the DIY section! :D

That Wherry will be bottled on Wednesday night... just need to try not being a greedy b'stard and swallow it all like the Coopers IPA that was my first brew last month!

if you're in town, the counting house next to George square had wherry on draught a couple of weeks back, not seen nelsons revenge in any pubs in town, most of the weatherspoons have ales just depends on which one you goto

Im in town tomorrow so I'll check the crystal palace to see what they have

innhouse is the only kit shop. but i use art of brewing as mucho cheaper

thanks guys for the help.

I am rarely in the wetherspoons in town, seem to only go to Blackfriars or brewdog, totally forgot that wetherspoons do ales.

i bought my gear so far from innhouse and thought their prices were good, never knew of art of brewing.

Are they glasgow based or do you buy for delivery?

i buy for delivery. I have found them cheaper than Inhoouse, the 2 tin kits are generally a fiver cheaper

i checked the crystal palace before the game but no wherry

You can check out http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/pubs/find/glasgow

And maybe call some of them to see what ales they do, but the counting house does the wherry

I found it awfy flat and not what i expected
