Brew Dog Punk IPA clone.

Post by LeeH » Mon Oct 29, 2012 10:30 am

Is there anyway I can do a Punk IPA style brew with a kit and dry hopping?

Any suggestions on which kit and hops?

Thanks.

Hi

If you search 'Brewdog' in the recipes section of this forum, you should get some ideas on hops.

A good base kit for your mod has got to be the good old Coopers Australian Pale Ale single can kit, as It's got a low IBU and low hop flavours and is very pale in colour.

You would have to work it out, but maybe brew with 1.5kg of DME to 20L and maybe some dextrose to tweak the OG up near 1.060.

You would also need to increase the kit IBU's by boiling some hops, but getting this right first time isn't easy, even if you try to calculate it.

Do plenty of research and then report back with a recipe :)

You might struggle with hop varieties at the moment, as the new US harvest has not hit our shores yet. Should be another few weeks.

Some Cascade and Columbus might get you in the right ballpark though, they're always available.
