Want to recreate an urbock

Post by snowbeast » Tue Feb 05, 2013 3:44 pm

Hi,

Over December I went fishing in Namibia and ended up buying a nambrew urbock case. The beer was 7% and was strong as mother russia.
I love urbock and have an IPA fermenting with 1kg ldme, 1kg brew enhancer and will dry hop it.

Is there another way to recreate an urbock?

That's the Austrian Eggenberg 9.3% lager, right? Sounds like you could put two lager kits together, with just the water for one, double-up the yeast, and hold the fermentation low and slow. Beware, you could just as easily end up with rocket fuel.
Steeping a little Munich Malt, and dry-hopping with Saaz will improve things a bit.

Good luck!
