Re: Quick Kit
How d'ye reckon that'd go down on a grilling hot day in July though, Monks?Monkeybrew wrote:Or a Ditch's Stout.

I mean, ready? F**k yeah!

And, I suspect the general public would indeed be more appreciative of something lighter ~ and more to their custom ~ that they could throw down their necks, in order sweat back out again.
If it were me, of course? No Problem! I'd get amongst it!

Re: Quick Kit
Cooper's Real Ale kit is a good one for summer (made with light or medium spray malt)

Very true, Ditch! I made a Cooper's Stout a few summers back and decided it wasn't my drink at all. I got another stout kit for cheap a while later and thought I might as well give it another go and bloody loved it, the only difference being that I drank it in winterDitch wrote:How d'ye reckon that'd go down on a grilling hot day in July though, Monks?

Re: Quick Kit
I know stout isn't really a summer drink, but I'm thinking unless he's got a temperature controlled fridge big enough for a keg, then a golden hoppy ale isn't going to be very nice.
If he has, then my first ever Coopers APA with 500g of light DME to 21L and dry hopped with 40g of Cascade was great from a keg @12C
Cheers

Re: Quick Kit
Hi
I thought of a coopers stout as i was drinking a pint of it last night but as said not everyones cup of tea, I just need a kit that will be presentable and tasty enough for the 13th of next month when hopefully the sun will be shining.

EDIT: Sorry, I have just seen the OP date, so I am well too late!
For future reference on quick brews though:
I have found that St Peters Golden Ale if ready pretty quick too of that is your kind of thing(?)
Its not a bad brew by any stretch of the imagination and came out of my FV clear as a bell.
