Festival Razorback IPA
Festival Razorback IPA
I've had this on about a week and a half now and it seems to be fermenting but the Krausen ring hasn't gone hard - have I got a problem?
Re: Festival Razorback IPA
I wouldn't say so. I've had soft rings when bottling after 2 weeks with no mishaps. I've had some crusty ones too! I don't think this is a major worry!
If it smells ok and the gravity is going down, just do your normal thing!

Thanks HM.
I've thrown the hops in now - 5 days as per instructions (albeit after 10 days rather than 5) or 3 max?

Just bottled this - should I have left the hops a week?
I had to siphon it twice there was that much sediment knocking about.
Even in the bottles it looks cloudier than any brew I've done before.
Am I getting too lackadaisical?

Mine turned out rather cloudy in the bottle initially but it cleared down nicely within a few weeks and is one of the best kit's I've done.

1 week for a dry hop will be ok.SquireKnott wrote:Just bottled this - should I have left the hops a week?![]()

I find it better to siphon a dry hopped brew into a fresh FV, leave it to settle again (and ideally chill) for another 3-4 days before bottling.
Did you use the supplied mesh bag over the end of your racking cane when siphoning?
Cheers

I did at first but it wouldn't siphon properly with it on, I'd have still been there now! That's the reason i siphoned it a second time.Monkeybrew wrote:1 week for a dry hop will be ok.SquireKnott wrote:Just bottled this - should I have left the hops a week?![]()

Re: Festival Razorback IPA
I've had a ludicrously early taste of this tonight (bottled 11 days) and I've stuck another in the fridge
Fantastic

Fantastic
