I.P.A. Recommendations
I.P.A. Recommendations
I want to make an IPA. Not something I've done befor so I intend to do one without any tweaking. What IPA kits would you recommend for a first time IPA?
Re: I.P.A. Recommendations
When I did kits, Coopers IPA was excellent for the price.
I think things have moved on a bit since then.....if I was still kit brewing I'd be very tempted to have a go at the Bulldog Evil Dog Double IPA.

Re: I.P.A. Recommendations
I really enjoyed the Bulldog Raja's Reward... it was so good all 40 bottles were gone within 6 weeks.
Re: I.P.A. Recommendations
Defo brew evil dog ipa nice strong pint but i think it could do with a bit more hops
Re: I.P.A. Recommendations
I hear good things about the Razorback by Festival. It is on my list to try.
Re: I.P.A. Recommendations
That's my problem there's so many kits on the market. I'm a Coopers person as a general rule, but wondered if any IPA brewers could offer the benefit of their experience.
Re: I.P.A. Recommendations
I've done a Raja's reward and a bulldog four finger Jack, both very good but at the moment Tesco direct have on sale John Bull IPA(£9) with a BKE also on sale £3.75 I think. Dry hopped with Galaxy,my third batch of this in the fv now.

I will get round to the Festival Razorback too as that gets good reviews.

A good English IPA kit, is the Brupaks Pride of Yorkshire India Pale Ale 2 can kit.
It's a 20L brew and comes with a hop teabag that you can steep or boil.
Cheers

Re: I.P.A. Recommendations
I did the john bull Ipa recently and is my best homebrew to date, only 6 bottles left after 3 weeks....can highly recommend at £9 from tesco direct 1.8kg pack too.
Re: I.P.A. Recommendations
I'd forgotten about brupaks pride of yorkshire, that's a good possibility. I've been put off John Bull kits pretty much for life, my dad used to do John Bull lager and it was bloody awful stuff, probably more down to my dad being an awful brewer than the fault of the kit, but I can't seem to bring myself to do one. I never had the heart to tell him what I really thought of his lager!
