big becks bottles
big becks bottles
will the big green becks bottles 660ml be ok for bottle conditioning lager?....hadnt seen any last time i made a brew or are they too weak?
Re: big becks bottles
They will be fine but just be careful as some of the larger bottles take a bigger cap
Cheers and gone,

Best used with a bench capper because the 'grabbing lip' is high on the neck so not suitable for a hand capper really.
I've used them multiple times and never had one go. I use one whole sugar cube per bottle to prime and get good results.

Are newcy brown bottles okay for home brew? I can get a regular supply from my dad. Also what other bottles are good or best?

Yes to Newky bottles but remember to keep them in a dark place or the light will skunk the beer.Wekslap wrote:Are newcy brown bottles okay for home brew? .... Also what other bottles are good or best?
In my experience, any bottle or vessel that has previously held either beer or a carbonated drink is usable. Grolsch and Magners bottles are my favourites but I've got about 30 different types across my 'fleet' of about 1,000 bottles and the only problem I've had was with the big Becks bottles when using a hand capper as mentioned above.
