Hi everyone this is my first post to the forum although been actively reading for months.
Ok i have made the Coppers larger and although its turned out great there's still what i can only describe as a yeasty taste not to strong but it there. I havent rushed this brew in total up to kegging its been sitting in a bucket for 3 weeks then another week or so in the fridge before kegging.
The brew is as clear as it in a pub and has the same sparkle its just the yeasty taste is there a way to get rid of that taste on my next brew ? Don't get me wrong its very drinkable very much so
Not sure how to attach a photo but here's a link to the first pint pulled of, please excuse my pulling skills that's something i have to learn lol, also the photo don't do the clearness justice it was a clear as it could be ...

Hi everyone looking at the type of coopers i got doing a google search the description kinda answered my question i think, maybe a malty taste ? the description was Coopers Lager Typical Australian draught with some distinctive malt tones. Could the malt tones be what I'm tasting lol ?
WalesALES a few years back we was involved in the launch of the prorthcawl Elvis fest lol

Hi firstly thanks for all the reply's its really appreciated.
I do prefer Larger to Ale and to answer the other question yes just used silver spoon granulated sugar. In terms of the Larger i was pleased with the look the smell of it and it did taste nice, the only way i can describe is if there was a Larger with the malt tang taste and a larger without the malt tang taste i would go for the larger without malt tang, but if there was only the malty taste one i would still drink it lol. Like i said previous we are `Fosters / Carling fans so if i could get that sort of tasting larger i would be a very happy chappy lol

Judging from previous postings elsewhere on this site I don't think many here are fans of fosters or Carling. Maybe try a Geordie lager with 1 kg bke or light DME, or poss a Wilko or cooper's Mexican cerveza with same. These seem quite popular here and might be nearer your taste. Hope this helps mate.

There are quite a few lager brewers on here.
If you want to brew lager or any beer well and you have the space set up a brewfridge
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=59384&hilit=brew+fridge+build
as quickly as pos.
It will save a small fortune in brews that were nearly there but not quite.

Hi mate i have a fridge setup after fermentation i transfered my lager into another vessel then placed it in the fridge for about 10 days, what i found when i took it out was a very clear lager with even more sediment at the bottom of the vessel, i was going to filter it bit it was so clear i didn't bother. Lol

Hi Paul. It sound as if you're heading the right way from the start.
After fermenting at 12c for three or four weeks I rack off in to a jerry can/cube and lager the brew at 1c for a month. This makes a huge improvement to the brew. Then I raise the brew to room temp and bottle, leave two weeks till carbed then put back in the fridge and drink.
Edit. I wish I had started out as you have.

HI Cellone. You provide some quality advice for lager kits. Do you think you would be able to knock me up a step by step guide to get the most out of making lager?
Thanks
