bottling temp ?
bottling temp ?
I bottled up a batch of Woodfordes Admiral a couple of weeks ago and forgot to leave it in the warm to second ferment for a few days. It went straight out to the garage and has been there ever since. There is some CO2 production, but not alot (bottled in PET so can squeeze the bottles to test for pressure build up). Beer has cleared nicely with a sediment layer on the bottom.
Is there any point bringing into the warm now or better to leave where it is?
thanks
steve

How do you know that Cellone was saying `Yes` to the warm or `Yes` to leaving it in the garage?

Keep it a room temp for a couple of weeks then return it to the garage for a few weeks. = Yes
Re: bottling temp ?
thanks chaps - i nearly pointed out the problem just to be cheeky - but as i am in the run up to starting full grain and will need all the help i can get - i errd on the side of caution.
the brew has been in the warm for a few days now and pressure seems to be building (fingers crossed)
have either of you (or anyone else reading) got a brew fridge?
i have mine set up (STC 1000 etc.) but have no heater element yet. i'm torn between spending money i don't have on a greenhouse heater or mackle up a ligtbulb in one of the malt tins from a kit. Any insite would be welcome.
cheers

24/7,
You could try one of these heaters, cheaper than a tube heater. I`ve never used one, but I`ve read that some people on here use them.

Re: bottling temp ?
My brew fridges are kept in the house and as I brew at 12 C I don't need to heat them. I would go for whichever is cheaper to run as the long term cost is key.
