Mine was a Thomas Coopers Irish Stout brewed up simply with a kilo of spray malt and half a tin of Lyles Black Treacle. Yummity-yum yum. A Ditch's is on the cards for next year.

This January I'll have been brewing twelve months!

close run thing between...

Bulldog - Evil Dog Double IPA
or
Milestone - Shine on - with added cascade hops (both as a tea and dry hopped)/

The Evil dog is a lively (possibly slightly over carb'd) strong brew that is far to easy to drink.

Shine on, great tasting very moreish.

How about a Wherry - tweaked or plain - take your pick.
Always comes out good and easy to make, but I vote for it for bringing people into the hobby. Many beginners start with it and because it always comes out good, stick with the hobby.

I have a grand total of three kits this year...

1. Wherry
- my first. becoming drinkable now after 2 months in bottle. I think it would benefit from a tweak if done again. but... too many kits/choices, too little time so i won't be making again.

2. Coopers Stout
- tweaked before I saw Ditch stout masterclass.
I did it with: 500g extra dark DME, 1000g dark DME and 250g brown sugar. brewed to 21 litres. OG 1052, FG 1014. I make it 5%.
It is very, very drinkable. The head is not staying to the bottom of the glass. but not suffering for it. Will make this again.

3. Brewmaker IPA, dry hopped with EKG and Centennial.
Only bottled this on Dec 6th. Dark, interesting.

Favourite of the year?

Easy. The coopers stout. I didn't really know what I was doing, threw it together, fermented it too hot and had spillage everywhere. yet it is still so good. Serve at 12C or so, i.e. from the garage not from the fridge. I will make it again.
