Kick starting

Hi guys quick newbie question, mt Woodfordes Werry seems to have stalled in the fermenting process am i ok to remove lid and give it a stir to try and get things going, the hydrometer has been on 1020 for last 2 days any other ideas greatfully heard.

a vigorous stir does no harm at all, yeast may have gone sleepy time - check temperature it may have got cold, a stir and a warm usually works wonders.

If the brew is nearing completion you don't really want to introduce Oxygen.

A swirl round with the lid on, or maybe at a push a gentle stir with a sanitized paddle/spoon.

Well after a good stir it seems to have worked took reading today and is at 1016 so will try again in a couple of days hopefully not to far away and will be able to bottle my first brew happy times.
