Oakham Citra
Is there a kit that would get me close to Oakham citra?
Re: Oakham Citra
You could add Citra Hops to almost any hoppy pale ale kit - boil half in water for half an hour and use this to make your kit, then dry hop with the rest (chuck them in your fermenter after about a week)

Cheers.
I just wondered if there was a kit that would be a good starting point.

For me Oakham's Citra is just a heavily hopped Golden Ale or Pale so there's loads of kits that would do the job. For example from this page the Golden Ale would work, but probably so would the NZPA or the APA.
If you brewed the golden ale kit, used DME or Liquid Extract instead of sugar, got 100g of citra hops and split them. First 50 grammes boil in a couple of litres of water for half an hour then use the sieved water as a hop tea when making your kit. The other 50g throw into your fermenter before the ferment stops but as the ferment is starting to slow down, this is your dry hop.
Personally I quite like dry hopping with pellet hops because I think you get much more flavour than with whole hops, but this is OK for me because I can chill the brew do help clear the fine hop material from broken down pellets. You might not be able to do this, but as long as the weather stays cool you could chill by just putting outside.

I ordered a Mangrove Jack pale ale kit, some citra hops but ordered SML in error, will that still be ok?

Seconded. Citra is one of my favourite beers, would love to hear how this turns out. All the best.
