Boiling adjuncts?
Boiling adjuncts?
I am about to do a Coopers Irish Stout kit with 1kg of extra dark spray malt soft brown sugar a dash of coffee made from grounds and maybe some dark treacle. I did the kit some years ago though with just the spray malt and brown sugar which I did not boil separately but just dissolved in the FV. This time I am a bit short of brown sugar hence the thought of also adding coffee and treacle. The can of treacle is well within date but I wonder whether it would be desirable with sterilisation in mind to boil it in a saucepan possibly together with the sugar and coffee despite the inevitable loss of flavour that would be a side effect.
Re: Boiling adjuncts?
Adding it to the fv will be fine. Tbh preferable imo, because you will retain more flavour.
