Cool, sorry I didn't notice these replies.
As for venue... There's The New Continental that always has a good selection of bottled beers and draught stuff (cask and keg), but it is a bit out of the way at the far end of Miller Park. There's a new place called The Guild Ale House up by the bus station and another one that someone mentioned to me that has offered itself for a bottle swap meet up. I'll dig through emails and texts to see if I can find it.

I'm in Lostock Hall and on a good day can see Leyland Home Brew !!Started brewing when Reg Maudling made it legal in 1963 ! We were well off then for supplies. We had Sweet and Dry in Lovat Road, Pauls Homebrew in Water Lane Something Brewing in Friagate as well as a decent range in Boots the chemist in Fishergate. Who remembers those ?
Re: Any groups in or around the Preston area?
Its a coincidence someone mentioned The Guild Ale house I'm just about to jump on the bus and go there ! I've known Gary for quite a while and he is a keen real ale man. PS in Lostock Hall we have a local Brewery ,Bishops Crook run by Dave Bishop and Ian Crook and Gary quite often has the brews on tap.

I have also used Leyland Homebrew a couple of times recently. The owner gave me his name (possibly Joe) but it was forgotten before I left the shop (its an age thing). Preston is about 30 miles for me but I would be interested in a meet if I could bring my dog. I am assuming my wife would also be welcomed anywhere.

Re: Any groups in or around the Preston area?
Just noticed this thread has livened up a bit, I'm in for a meet up and bottle swap.
Regarding pub selection, Guild Ale House is good but every time I've been in it's been quite tight for space, the upstairs function room is probably a way off being available.
One other possibility is the Ale Emporium, I've not been in for quite a while but there would be plenty of space in there.

Hi
I have just got myself registered again, I live in Chorley and would be interested in meeting up with any like minded brewers.

Did the idea of a meet-up near Preston work out? I am new to the area and would be interested in joining/meeting up.

A brand new micro pub in Longridge near Preston is hosting a home brewers get together on Sunday 20th November at 6pm.
It's called Hoppy Days, Squiffy and I are intending to attend. Come along if you're local and bring some home brew.
It would be nice to have a regular meet in our area.

Are people still interested in a group for the Preston area? If so just post 'yes' (and preferably also an email address0 and I will get something organised.
It would help if you also gave a suggestion for a venue for the first meet (with decent beer being the only requirement for the first one - we can decide on future meets then). I am in Longridge now so Hoppy Days would be good for me, but somewhere in the centre of Preston might have more appeal.
