OK no problem. We use Hilary's transport in Daventry to ship stuff out for the boats. Probably best with Someone you know.
Re: question for braumeister owners
well just to update after ordering a 20 litre BM I have second thoughts and changed to a 50 litre one.Unfortunately it could not be sent by post so have had to get sent to the uk and will be brought out early in june.
it was delivered to kent today cant wait for june to come
thanks for all who sent me 20litre profiles but now need to get 50 litre ones.
I have found two that should give me a start,I plan to try a 44 litre brew length to start with,I assume I can do this with the large malt pipe ok.
I plan to order the short pipe in due course as I will mostly brew 25 litre brew lengths.

Hello, did you ever get a 50l profile for BeerSmith or other software? (I use BrewTarget but would probably change to BS for the utility of an accurate equipment profile)

Re: question for braumeister owners
Hi,
This is what I have been using, remember to "sparge" with 1l per kilo of grain.
Equipment Profile: 50l Braumeister
Batch Size: 45.00 l
Mash Tun Volume: 60.00 l
Mash Tun Weight: 24.00 kg
Mash Tun Specific Heat: 0.20
Lauter Tun Deadspace: 0.50 l
Boil Size: 56.38 l
Boil Time: 90 min
Evaporation Rate: 8.9 %
Calculate Boil Size: TRUE
Kettle Top Up Water: 0.00 l
Hop Utilization Adjustment: 100.00 %
Trub/Chiller Loss: 2.00 l
Cooling Loss: 4.00
Top Up Water into Fermenter: 0.00 l

Re: question for braumeister owners
Another couple of Q's for BM owners....I'm seriously considering the 50l version.
Can the hop filter be modified using T40 mesh to accommodate pellet hops?
If not, is there something that can be made to enable their use.
The BM wort coolers seem very expensive and I already have a good plate chiller.
I'm assuming I can just hook it up to the plate chiller in the same way you do a 'normal' boiler??
TIA

Re: question for braumeister owners
picked my BM 50 litre up today after shipping fromUK.all arrived without damage.
I have one of the spiedel hop filters and yes I think you could put another finer guaze behind the existing one.
this is an interesting thread ref filters and if I had known about the chad made one I think I would have gone for that
https://forum.braumeisters.net/viewtopi ... chad#p2665
with regard to plate chillers yes you can either change the supplied tap for a 1/2" bsp one (requires a 3/4" to 1/2" male to male reducer)
or push tubing onto the existing tap, probably depends on whether you use a pump or not to transfer the wort.

do you have a short malt pipe? if so are there any changes to be made to the profile except for brew length ?
I take it you mash in with a different quantity of water dependant on the recipe (ie calculate total liquor required and subtract sparge water @1l/kilo ).
I have seen people say always mash in the same quantity of water and adjust sparge but I am thinking it is possible to over do the sparge.I have read about tannin extraction with over doing it. is this why 1 litre/kilo seems to be the normal idea
