Grainfather - Replacing temp probe

Post by Suffolkbrewer » Sun Jan 31, 2021 8:44 pm

Hi All

Looking to get a longer length temp probe from the grainfather control unit? Is there an easy option to do this or am i going to have to open the control box up and replace from there? If this can be done, any suggestions on kit needed for this? Looking to go to around 2M in length if possible

Thanks
SB

Won't the probe come out the other side?

If you don't want to open the box you will need to cut the cable solder in the extra length and probably cover the joint with shrink on.

It would be a good idea to check the calibration afterwards.

May I ask why you need to extent it?
