So Braumeister are leading the pack again.

With the latest 2021 jacketed models the new 2021 controller can run the cooling tooo.

You can couple in a chiller...

https://shop.speidels-braumeister.de/en ... ool-0-3-kw.

Chill to temp and then ferment it in the kettle...

https://shop.speidels-braumeister.de/en ... 20-litres1

So you have a huge amount of one pot automation......at a price.

So who's getting one then !

Hi

I have a 2015 20l, I am very happy with my King Cobra chiller, but have ordered a fermenter lid.
Will see how it works with trub etc in the brew. Should be ok as the trub is a yeast nutrient anyway.
I have an old vending machine chiller I may try to adapt some sort of cooling.

Not sure I could just upgrade to a 2021 right now.

Apart from the new interface, nothing really new here.

That chiller is a little cheeky when you can pick up Maxi chillers for 100 quid or less.

In fact I’m cooling using one I pick up off eBay for 30 quid right now! Just needed a new recirc pump.

I hope the new units have better taps as mine drips when cold. If I was fermenting in the BM I’d loose half the brew!

Quite agree - I plugged mine completely when I had modded to a lower pump tap.

I now brew overnight, so my chiller is redundant. "No brew day method" makes beer really easy.

Email Speidel, I had the same issue when I bought mine and they sent me a new part; it was just the plastic insert bit and was a sod to get the old one out but has worked perfectly since. I have considered changing the tap over the years but as it now works properly and is very easy to clean relative to a 3 piece ball valve I have never bothered.

I hadn’t thought of that and it only drips until the temperature gets up a little. I’ll drop them an email.

Thank you Image

Very interesting concept, fermenting in the kettle.... finally a use for that cooling jacket which imho was just added weight and a pretty much useless wort cooling solution because of its very small surface area....

but still, its basic price in europe is Eur 2600 (in germany ?) and compare that to the Norwegian B80 (Brewtools kit) basic at Eur 1749 delivered anywhere in Europe ...

sorry my bad there.😃

I can understand why they started shipping the useless cooling jacket a couple of years ago.

I forgot to mention I don't understand why it is sooo fooking expensive or why their superb customer service ends when you click "add to cart"
