Wine expert and Vineco kits

Post by brewjohn » Mon Aug 08, 2022 2:34 pm

at Christmas I was given a Vineco Shiraz kit. I now decided to get another one but my local homebrew shop only had Wine extert kits . Opening up the Wine expert box it looked familiar to the Vineco one I did previous. Even the instruction sheet was the same ? Is this what I know as "Badge engineering " I am a retired TV repair engineer and I know most of our TV's come from 2 factorys, Vestel in Turkey or UMC in China. Is this happening now to our wine and beer kits ?

don't they make telly's in Bishop Auckland?
or do they just screw them together?
