Elderberry liqueur

Post by rowyourboat » Fri Aug 16, 2019 7:34 am

Found some old bottles of elderberry wine under the stairs i made a few years back. (Decided to stick to beer not long after I made this). It was never that good, and we mulled it at Christmas one year to use some up!

Having found this though, was wondering if i could add some fruit/sugar and a spirit of some kind to make something a bit different like a hedgerow port or liqueur perhaps? Anyone with any ideas or experience of trying it, please let me know...

A few years ago I fortified some bottles of elderberry wine with brandy up to 20% I left it for a couple of years before drinking and it was rather nice!
