Natural corks in UK?

Post by chris2012 » Sun Nov 07, 2021 9:45 pm

Can anyone recommend any places that sell natural corks in small
quantities, in different grades in the UK?

It sounds like there are different grades, ranging to 'flor' quality I think?

Yeah still wine corks. In batches of 100 or so.

I haven't found anywhere so far selling different grades of natural corks, such as
some overseas sites like - https://www.widgetco.com/natural-wine-corks

Why not order them from Amazon France? There's no need to set up a new account, provided you have an account already somewhere, and you can pay with whatever card you already have registered.
The corks en liège naturel are just plain cork, whereas those en liège colmaté are sealed with some kind of filler and cork dust to provide a better looking cork. Whether that makes it a more impermiable cork, I don't know.
I don't do much wine and then I prefer screw top bottles, but I have seen bags of corks labelled as suitable for wine which is intended to be stored for a number of years: hence the "3 year corks" are cheaper than the "10 year corks". You may want to do some research, but I think the ones on the Amazon site, above, look pretty general purpose.
Hope that helps.
I'm cheap. Just give me beer.

Can I ask what is the wine and how long do you want to keep it?
