Your 'neverfail' recipes

Post by Martin the fish » Wed Jan 16, 2008 10:45 am

I know a few of you out there have a house bitter or standard that you like to brew.
Would you like to give me your recipe or a link to it? I'd like a few 'easy as' recipes as i get into AG, the ones you yourself just know are gonna be easy and reliable. Like DaaB's one that he suggests for his mini mash for instance.

Or one you think is worthy of a try.

I like full bodied ales mostly, but also like a good session ale too. Bit limited as to what supplies i can get here in NZ.

Also the amount of recipes i've collected now means i can't actually decide myself  there's too many

Can i just utilise what hops i have with hop calculator and carry on as normal? I have fuggles but challenger i don't. Could i sub EKG for challenger? Or whatever?

I should have a better idea of sticklebract once some of my beers have conditioned.
The more i brew the more i'll know
I think my varied tastes in beers that i used to drink and my fuggled brain doesn't help
Tanglefoot, Hobgoblin, Pendle Withches Brew were my fav when i could get them but i usually drank London Pride/ESB, Youngs Special/Ordinary being a london lad. I love my cider too. Dunkertons was my fav of all time but i used to drink the 50p a pint rough house scrumpy when available too. That memory bought flooding back by my first gulp of TC. Needs a few more years in the bottle i think.

I also like v expensive Cognac, cheap rum and coke, red wine and champers. :)

I know, i know. I can't help it. :=P Not keen on Moet but the aussie stuff is about 90p a swimming pool full here.
Banrock station sparkling shiraz is even better. Don't knock it till you've tried it.
