Next AG Hucknall Pride

Post by youreds91 » Fri Oct 24, 2008 7:36 am

Here's my latest one done in Beersmith, loosely based on London Pride but a bit stonger which is my preference.
Comments & suggestions welcome

23L
5.00 kg Pale Malt, Maris Otter (3.0 SRM) Grain
0.50 kg Caramel/Crystal Malt - 10L (10.0 SRM) Grain
90 min 25.00 gm Fuggles [4.40 %] (90 min) Hops
90 min 48.00 gm Goldings, East Kent [4.60 %] (90 min) Hops
15 min 10.00 gm Goldings, East Kent [4.60 %] (15 min) Hops

Target OG 1.050

Cheers.

What yeast are you thinking of using?

looks tasty though.

I take it is to soften the blow of being a forest supporter  on that note you could call it Cloughies Pride :D

I used S-04, very lively it was too, now in the secondary, dry hopped with a bit of Challenger from the freezer. Nice & dark due to the extra Crystal, OG was 1050ish, I've not started working out effiency yet, but suspect I could have done better.

Tricky trees are now off the bottom, maybe I will rename it...

Interestingly I made a Wilford Pride back in my extract days, pretty much the same recipe although more 1042 IIRC. Very nice it was too.

Also there was a time when I thought I might name my beers after Forest players;
The Psycho - Legless within 20mins.
The Stanley - Unpredictable and bitter but with a fine finish
The Archie - Keeps you running from August to May
The Silenzi - Everyone makes a duff one at times. Dump it at your earliest (and in your nearest) convenience
Old Big 'Ed - Magnificent but with a, erm, big 'ed

etc. etc.
