Small single hop brews

I like the idea of doing a few 1 or 2 gallon single hop brew to understand the taste differences.

Will probably use Grahams beer engine and try and get the bitterness a close as possible for each brew.

Anyone done this before? Is it worthwhile?

Are you going to do a large mash, then multiple boils? Just wondering how many variable you are trying to eliminate. I'm quite interested in results from experiments like that but each time I think about doing one I just end up with a regular brew day - poor self-discipline :(
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

I don't think I'd be able to do that as I don't have anywhere to boil more than 1 brew at a time.

I'd have to just do mini-mashes a little like Chris has mentioned but using my current 10g setup.

Its a plan anyway.
