Dandelion beer

Post by silkyuk9 » Sat May 23, 2009 7:58 pm

im thinking about adding some young dandelion leaves to my next batch of homebrew.

Im going to buy a basic tin of youngs bitter, but before i add the tin to the 40 pints of sugary water i want to add the leaves.

how do you think and what quantity should i use??

Im thinkning of just boiling the leaves and putting the 'stock' into my barrel. I do not want to over do the leaves, so really how many lbs should i add.

any thoughts anyone??

I suppose you have to ask why?

What do you expect to add to the taste of the beer? Do you know what they taste like?

Try boiling x lb in y pints of water and taste it. If you like it  , add a determined amount to the barrel and see what it comes out like.

The next time add more/less to taste?
