I am trying this over the weekend, I cant find a clone so this is my interpretation of their description:-

NO NAME
Date:
Gyle Number:
Fermentable Colour lb: oz Grams Ratio
Pale Malt 5 EBC 9 lbs. 14.6 oz 4500 grams 90%
Crystal Malt 130 EBC 0 lbs. 8.8 oz 250 grams 5%
Torrefied Wheat 4 EBC 0 lbs. 8.8 oz 250 grams 5%

Hop Variety Type Alpha Time lb: oz grams Ratio
Challenger Whole 7.6 % 90 mins 0 lbs. 1.8 oz 50 grams 25%
Cascade Whole 5.7 % 5 mins 0 lbs. 1.8 oz 50 grams 25%
Challenger Whole 7.6 % 5 mins 0 lbs. 1.8 oz 50 grams 25%
Cascade Whole 5.7 % 0 mins 0 lbs. 1.8 oz 50 grams 25%

Final Volume: 23 Litres
Original Gravity: 1.049
Final Gravity: 1.012
Alcohol Content: 4.8% ABV

Bitterness: 54.9 EBU
Colour: 18 EBC

It is my favorite at the moment so I hope it turns out somewhere close. I will use US-05 or Nottingham.

Wish me luck!!!!

Being a fan of 'Pere Ubu' I misread the name of their beer and now MUST brew it!
Did you see they are advertising for a brewer on their website?
Must try some of these cascade hops, are'nt they American?
I have challenger so could well order some challenger to complement hem for a US style IPA.

Yeah it's an Amarican hop

"Cascade has a unique floral/spicy aroma both in the cone form and in the beer, mainly due to abnormal levels of some of the essential oils. It is very popular with some brewers due to the unique character imparted to the finished beer, others object to it because of its “perfume like” hoppy flavour. Trial brews and tastings also show a superior bitterness quality with Cascade even at high EBU levels (40+) there is little harshness or lingering bitterness. Storageability is relatively poor unless vacuum packed."

You really have to try it!!

Can't wait to give it a go with Challenger.

I brewed this on Sunday 21 and although my efficiency was a little low it was a good brew day. I am going to bottle it tonight but I had a sneaky slurp out of the fermenter last night and it tastes fantastic already, I have high hopes for this one. Going to brew another over the Easter break and am thinking something strong and American style.

Cheers

That sounds fantastic. I'm planning another Cascade brew shortly.

If it good already imagine what it will be like when it hits its peak! Let us know how it finishs gravity wise, I could be well tempted with this one....

Well that's 45 pints at 1010. I had a bit more, like about half a pint and am well chuffed. Now have to be patient!!!
