Just love Dark Mild. Used varying amounts of crystal, chocolate, black malts and roasted barley and some torre wheat. All with varying degrees of success.

Cheers OSB, I used black in my last and turned out well. What % black do you used. I was worried about it being too acrid but turned out well.

90g for a 23L brew which 2.3%. I don't see the point in using too much. I'm actually considering dropping it down to 60 or 70 g.

I brewed one a couple of years ago that turned out good. If using dry yeast I'd go for Windsor;

It was a 30L batch and turned out at 3.2% ABV.

1930.00 gm Pale Malt, Maris Otter (3.0 SRM) Grain 40.21 %
1000.00 gm Mild Malt (4.0 SRM) Grain 20.83 %
1000.00 gm Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 20.83 %
400.00 gm Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (60.0 SRM) Grain 8.33 %
300.00 gm Chocolate Malt (450.0 SRM) Grain 6.25 %
170.00 gm Wheat, Torrified (1.7 SRM) Grain 3.54 %
58.00 gm Fuggles [3.70 %] (90 min) Hops 17.8 IBU
14.00 gm Goldings [3.50 %] (15 min) Hops 1.9 IBU
14.00 gm Goldings [3.50 %] (0 min) Hops -
1 Pkgs English Ale (White Labs #WLP002) Yeast-Ale
