Porter V2

Hi chaps,

I've got porter planned for this weekend. It's a slight variation on my original recipe that I was pretty pleased with. Recipe is:-

Pale 3700g
Crystal 600g
Brown 500g
Munich 250g
Flaked barley 250g
Chocolate 200g

This should give an OG 1055 - 1060 on a brew length of 20Ltrs.

Challenger hops for 90mins to 44IBU's. Yeast will be Brewlabs Thames Valley 3.

Previously I'd used slightly more Chocolate which I've reduced a touch to dial back the roast effect, and I'd used the ubiquitous S04, and have gone with TV3 with a more 'London' porter finish (whether that'll work is anyone's guess!). The other addition is the use of munich malt. I hadn't planned to use it, but as I managed to over-order, I thought I'd chuck some in. Whether, or what difference it'll make, I'll see in due course. So, what do you thing?

Richard
